Cheap Easter Basket Ideas

So we all know how amazingly wrapped & decorated those Easter egg basket at target or walmart may make  us go awwwwwwwwww but.... reality is.. depending on how many baskets you actually plan on giving out this year, you may not have 29.99 to give out per basket. If i was to buy those i would easily spend 150.00 which is not even an option in my life.
so here we go yes a DIY! now on this post i will just be telling you whats going in my basket & on a separate post.

Here are the items that i will be placing in my sons basket:
  • Color Books
  • Crayons
  • Glow sticks
  • spider man action figures
  • Books
  • Candy
  • juice box
  • sticker sets
  • money

So as far as money goes i will just be putting 5.00 In an egg for him... he loves glow sticks so i thought he would love those. you can find all of these items at the dollar tree.
Anyone who knows me knows that i love me some dollar tree.
i will post the final picture of my basket probably by Friday!

Easter Sunday Plans...

Hello everyone! hope you are doing ok!!

So i thought i would share with you our Easter Sunday plans...
Now remember... my hubby is out of work & we are making ends meet by being extremely frugal so we are not going all out this year..

  • Church of course !
  • Egg hunt
  • Small BBQ at home...
  • Basket opening for Allan
  • pictures with basket
  • prayers
  • Cake !!

So yea pretty simple.. i think the most important part for me is to capture the pictures... priceless memories in my opinion & of course you cant go wrong with some cake!!

I was thinking of posting some youtube videos or vlogs.. have not decided yet.. if i do them i want to be committed to providing videos at least once per week...

Pinching Pennies

Sooooo
I have to say that i have never had to really sit & think about how to "pinch pennies" Me & my husband have always been lucky enough to make money & spend it in whatever we want... That can change quickly..
I am the primary bread winner at the moment since my husband  hours have been cut back... It is really tough considering that we put all of our savings in a no touch basis.

So instead of whining i am going to give you a list of things we are doing differently... we have only been doing this for the past month so hopefully we see some changes when the bills come..

  • Laundry Twice a week
  • Eating at home everyday & packing Lunches
  • One entertainment day out of the week (we chose Sunday)
  • No TV all week except Fridays ( this helps the kids get out & play too)
  • Making my own laundry detergent
  • No sodas  in the grocery list
  • 60.00 a week grocery budget (this has been tough
  • 150.00 Monthly Budget for Sam's club
  • Air dry certain items of clothing to avoid drying (kinda loving this)
So that's kind of all we are doing at the moment...

i immediately saw my money being saved on the packing lunch everyday deal... it really does make a difference...

Comment below if you have any other ideas!
