Stocking up on food

So, I have recently decided to stock up on certain foods... My husband works in construction and usually has most of the winter off. In some cases he is sent out to other states but I like to prepare just incase he is off and we are living just off my income. Canned food is not the only thing you should stock up on.., after all who wants to eat can food everyday? Here is a list of items (including canned items) that are worth stocking up on...

1.Rice and pasta
2.spices for poultry and meats (you can never have to many)
3.canned chicken
4.canned tuna *this is a must!
5.dry fruits
6.peanut butter
7.frozen fruits
8.pasta sauces (canned or jars)
9.cheese to freeze
10.juice for the kids
11.sugar
12.flour

I feel that with the above items my kids will not feel the "pinch" of living with one income. I hate not being able to give my kids what they want because we are not financially prepared.
So I will be posting some grocery hauls on my youtube channel if you are interested please watch !

New Routines

Okay, so have you ever felt like you are not doing a good job being a parent!?
I have been feeling like that lately and not sure if its because I'm 7 months along and life is crazy but I need to take action now...
I decided to come up with a daily routine and stick to it no "buts" or anything.
The daily routine goes like this for my son:

Wake up : 6:00 Am sharp no school days 6:30 Am

Eat breakfast
Brush teeth
Wash up
Change
Gather homework & back pack &lunch box

Evenings:
Wash up
Homework for 45 mins
Dinner
Playtime 45 mins
Put dirty clothes away & toys
Bath & brush teeth
Story time
Bed time ( in bed by latest 9:15 pm)

So this is what I plan to have the kids start next week. I know it will be difficult but they say it takes 17 days to make things a habit... We will see...
Keep you posted !

Cheap Easter Basket Ideas

So we all know how amazingly wrapped & decorated those Easter egg basket at target or walmart may make  us go awwwwwwwwww but.... reality is.. depending on how many baskets you actually plan on giving out this year, you may not have 29.99 to give out per basket. If i was to buy those i would easily spend 150.00 which is not even an option in my life.
so here we go yes a DIY! now on this post i will just be telling you whats going in my basket & on a separate post.

Here are the items that i will be placing in my sons basket:
  • Color Books
  • Crayons
  • Glow sticks
  • spider man action figures
  • Books
  • Candy
  • juice box
  • sticker sets
  • money

So as far as money goes i will just be putting 5.00 In an egg for him... he loves glow sticks so i thought he would love those. you can find all of these items at the dollar tree.
Anyone who knows me knows that i love me some dollar tree.

  • Church of course !
  • Egg hunt
  • Small BBQ at home...
  • Basket opening for Allan
  • pictures with basket

So yea pretty simple.. i think the most important part for me is to capture the pictures... priceless memories in my opinion & of course you cant go wrong with some cake!!

I was thinking of posting some youtube videos or vlogs.. have not decided yet.. if i do them i want to be committed to providing videos at least once per week...

Pinching Pennies

Sooooo
I have to say that i have never had to really sit & think about how to "pinch pennies" Me & my husband have always been lucky enough to make money & spend it in whatever we want... That can change quickly..
I am the primary bread winner at the moment since my husband  hours have been cut back... It is really tough considering that we put all of our savings in a no touch basis.

So instead of whining i am going to give you a list of things we are doing differently... we have only been doing this for the past month so hopefully we see some changes when the bills come..

  • Laundry Twice a week
  • Eating at home everyday & packing Lunches
  • One entertainment day out of the week (we chose Sunday)
  • No TV all week except Fridays ( this helps the kids get out & play too)
  • Making my own laundry detergent
  • No sodas  in the grocery list
  • 60.00 a week grocery budget (this has been tough
  • 150.00 Monthly Budget for Sam's club
  • Air dry certain items of clothing to avoid drying (kinda loving this)
So that's kind of all we are doing at the moment...

i immediately saw my money being saved on the packing lunch everyday deal... it really does make a difference...

Comment below if you have any other ideas!

It's a Girl!!!!

So yes it's a girl I officially have the "pair"
Everyone wants. I was thinking I would have loved to have a boy now so I can have a girl last (as my third child) but as long as the baby is healthy I do not mind what gender it is.. The odd part is that i am having issues shopping for a girl nothing seems right is that weird? I loved shopping for my son ... Any ways Luis is really exited for the girl. We are planning Allan's 5th party it's going to be in may & I cannot wait. Last year I went all out but the weather sucked. So this year I'm going to do the party towards the end of may when it's hopefully hotter.
Of course the theme is going to be Spider-Man Allan is still obsessed !
I'm going to post a few pics with ideas for decor & cakes and favors too...
Have a good night all!

Boy Or Girl?????????

Hi !
So I'm so exited that my ultrasound is next week!
so here's the thing.... with my first child i did not experience the "need to know" feeling because i was convinced that i was having a boy... i just knew i was.. nothing could change my mind.
what do you know?? I had a boy!
i was not even shocked when the ultrasound technician said its a boy 110% because i already knew that i was having a boy.

Skip to almost 5 years later.... i have no clue or "feeling" of what I'm having.
I'm clueless this time.
i have always thought that i would not be a good mother to a girl because I'm so rough.
I have always wanted two or even 3 boys i just feel more comfy with them.
Then again I'm kinda like... it would be nice to do a girls hair & get Mani's & Pedi's together. :)

My Ultrasound is on the 12th. My Hubby, Son & sister in law will be tagging along & have made up my mind that is its a girl I'm going to go on a shopping spree.
if its a boy my son will be so happy i cannot even explain.

I do have to mention this pregnancy has been harder then my first pregnancy.
I cant wait to pop already.
4 months to go!
